WEEK 4 TERM 4
- BLOG POST
Our learning this Term.
Literacy
This term we are talking about Persuasive
Text topics. We will be learning all
about the different parts of a persuasive text over the next few weeks.
Persuasive writing presents an
argument or point of view. We like to debate at range of topics -
· Title captures your reader’s interest
Eg. Dogs are better than cats.
· Begins with an opening statement
presenting a general viewpoint.
· Firstly, present “for” argument and
reason.
· Secondly, “for” argument and reason.
· Finally, “for” argument and reason.
· Then opposite point of view.
· Conclusion summarises main argument
and ends with a sentence the audience will remember.
· Use emotive language –
o
We
strongly believe
o
The
tragic consequences
o
It
is vital
· Uses a variety of controlling words
and conjunctions.
Numeracy
In numeracy, addition and subtraction
with regrouping to 100 is an extension task that indicates a good understanding
of place value.
It is important that children handle money
to purchase milk and know what change to expect.
Reading both analogue and digital clocks
is an important life skill.
Dancing
The children are having fun and
enjoying the dance lessons and looking forward to sharing their achievement and
skill development.
Swimming

uniform, towel and bathers clearly marked. Also try some timed dressing so your
child can achieve this skill.
