Week 5 Term 3

  Book Week The Book Week dress-up parade was on  Friday 20th August .  The students looked fantastic and a big thank you to all the parents and carers for putting together their costumes.   No Trash Tuesday In accordance with our school’s Sustainability plan, our goal is to significantly reduce our school’s waste.  No Trash Tuesday is an initiative which encourages students and families to take a mindful approach to reducing the waste we produce.  Packing a lunchbox with no waste is both environmentally friendly and responsible.    Tip:  Try to use re-usable containers rather than bringing pre-packaged items.          Literacy Phonics We have been working on split digraphs that using the bossy e such as a-e as in cake.   Year 1 Blog Term 2, Week 9   Well, although it has been a long term we have seen it go by very quickly. Week 4

  Yr 1 Blog Week 4 We are well underway with our learning in Term 2. It is encouraging to see many children farewelling their parents with such confidence. As we near the middle of the year, we encourage each child to arrive at school with a polite greeting to their teachers, as well as managing their own belongings such as bag, folder and water bottle. Allowing children to complete this simple morning routine will aid in building their independence and confidence.   Literacy In writing this term we are having a wonderful time continuing to learn about narratives and the correct structure to follow. The narrative structure includes starting with an opener such as once upon a time. Introduce characters and setting. A series of events that lead to a problem. A solution to the problem and an ending.   Week 1 – Term 2 It is an absolute pleasure to be back at school with the boys and girls of Room 28 for another term of learning! We hope that everyone feels refreshed and ready to build their most important muscle; the brain! Week 7

  Harmony Day    Special Parade of the Nations     On the 26th March (Friday), our school will celebrate Harmony Day with two special Parades of the Nations.
