Week 1 Term 4

Week 1, Term 4 –  Blog  Post         Our Learning this Term   Literacy   This term we are learning to write Persuasive Texts. Persuasive texts present an opinion about a particular topic. We will be focusing on the language of opinion which is used to express a point of view about a topic. So far, we have discussed how people can have different thoughts, feelings and points of view about the same situation. For example, you might think that reading is the best way to spend leisure time. A friend might think that reading is not the best way to spend leisure time, because they prefer playing sports.     Numeracy   In Numeracy, we are focusing on the concepts of Money, Addition and Subtraction (with and without regrouping) and Numbers to 100. To assist your child in their learning it is helpful to involve them in every day numeracy operations. Shopping and cooking are great examples of incidental times when simple maths can be used to solve problems.
