Health Program Term 2

This term in Health we are focusing on Resilience. Resilience is a very important skill to have and it means bouncing back when things are tough and don’t quite go our way. A very wise Year 1 told me when we started this topic that resilience is very important because life is not fair sometimes!
My friend, Mr Bounce Back Bear, has come to stay in our class for the term. Each week he teaches us a different strategy about how we can be resilient and bounce back. We put these strategies in our invisible backpack and when we need them we can pull one out to help us.
So far he has taught us:
- To be grateful for what we have. Here are a few examples: Lachie is grateful for his health. Tiana is grateful for her family. Manan is grateful for god. Kai is grateful for his friends.
- That it is okay to make mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes and that is fine.
- Be the boss of your anger and know that it is okay to be angry, we just need to deal with it correctly.

In the next few weeks we are also going to learn about what makes a good friend and how to deal with bullies.
Let’s all work together to build our resilience, as it is one of the most important life skills you can have.
